The Lord is your Creator, your Redeemer, your Shepherd and your King! 

God is with you in your workplace longing to pour out his life and goodness in you and then through you into your coworkers. For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose (Phil 2:13). 

In Psalm 100, the Psalmist summons you by faith to ‘shout for joy’ to ‘serve the Lord with gladness’ to ‘come before the Lord with joyful songs’ to ‘enter his gates’ to ‘give thanks’ and to ‘praise his name’! 

This invitation is not just for Sunday morning. This invitation is extended to you today in the midst of what is happening in your life, and in your workplace. 

Right now you are faced with a choice. That choice is either to dwell on the ecstasies and agonies of your work situation, or to remember that the Lord is God. 

The Lord is God! God’s love endures forever! God’s faithfulness continues through all generations! God made you, and you are his! You are one of the sheep of his pasture! (Ps 100:3) 

Jesus was willing to trust God with what was given him – the time, the place, the Roman occupation, the limitations of the broken relationships around him and the brokenness of the religious system. Jesus trusted God to work out his purposes in this context. God proved himself faithful to Jesus by raising Jesus from the dead by his mighty power. Therefore, Jesus invite you to trust in God, the Good Shepherd, in your work context. 

By choosing to accept God’s invitation, by choosing to place your faith in God, by choosing to focus on your Lord instead of focusing on the ecstasies and agonies of your work, you will see how richly God has blessed you. 

By choosing to trust in the Lord with all your heart instead of trying to lean on your own understanding of what is happening in your workplace (Prov 3:6), you will have the joy of experiencing God. 

You are one of the sheep of God’s pasture! Your work is occurring in God’s pasture! Every task you do occurs in the presence of your good Shepherd! Ask Him to open your eyes to see his goodness and righteousness in your workplace! 

Jesus is inviting you to offer the glory and fallenness of your work into His hands, the hands of your Shepherd. Offer your work into God’s hands and allow God to transform your work into a blessing for you and for society. 

Jesus invites you today to lay down your possessions, your skills and talents on the altar, and to acknowledge that He his Lord over your life, your possessions, and the technologies and tools that you use in your work. When you lay these down, when your hands are empty, then God comes and pours his life into you and fills your heart with songs of praise and thanksgiving! 

God is inviting you today to enter his courts with praise and to give thanks to him for your work and your workplace!
